: It seems to be the case that when flyers go for a lot of money on ebay it is not long until a flurry of them turn up for sale
yes, i've noticed it a few times - and this gives the wrong impression in the price guide
what i'd like to do is give average values for flyers where i've got plenty of info (showing the values in bold)
to discount the effects of extreme bids and changes over time, it'd probably be best to use the median of the most recent sales (the value for which half the sale prices are higher, and half the sale prices are lower) - perhaps using whichever is greater, the last half dozen sales, or all the sales in the previous 12 months?
but there's problems...
some of the low prices (and where there's no bids) are cos the flyers are badly titled and described (eg they don't have "rave" or "flyers" anywhere) and/or they aren't in the "Music Memorability - Dance" category - not sure what to do about that as it's hard to tell whether that's the main reason they've not fetched good prices
and there's the effect of condition - some collectors will bid high for a mint flyer but not even bid low on one that's torn (eg if they're replacing a flyer they've already got)
and sometimes there's several simultaneous sales of the same flyer by different sellers, or someone is selling 20 copies of the same flyer in a single "Buy Now" sale...
