As presumably one of the rarest Dreamscape flyers dreamscape IX was pretty expensive until a few months ago when more and more were turning up on ebay, now you can pick one up for a few quid.
It seems to be the case that when flyers go for a lot of money on ebay it is not long until a flurry of them turn up for sale - the owners of those flyers no doubt spurred on by the high price. Look at the recent high price paid for a Pulse flyer (one I had not seen before). Within a day or two there was another and i think one or two of the same have been sold since for no where near the (I think) £46 paid for the first copy.
What are your views on what people will pay a high price for? I go for design first, then age and then promoter. Rareity is something that gives flyer value but it is hard to know how many are floating around.
Does anyone know of anywhere to find information on the number of flyers printed (for a particular night), who designed which flyer etc. I doubt if that info is out there but it's worth asking.
I'd eat a packet of hairy animals for the first Trip/ Sunrise or Hedonism (I love the design of that flyer - see the Gallery - Feb 88) I reckon there'd go for £50-60 on ebay!
