::: what is the highest price paid for a single rave flyer? I suppose this only really counts for ebay sales as private sales are not on record.
:: Id imagine it will be the early sunrise ones. Ive heard some of them changing hands for over 50 quid.
yes, in May 2004 a Sunrise "A Midsummer Nights Dream (24 Jun 89) sold on ebay for 51.00 (the multicolour one, not the pre-flyer) - condition wasn't mentioned - one in only Good condition went for 28 pounds a few days ago
very pleasing to see it appreciated, cos this an all-time favourite of mine - i reckon there's something quite magical about it (see link below)...
...tho it's probably not the "best" flyer ever (some of the early 90s US West Coast flyers are fabulous), nor the most collectible (most collectors want a Dreamscape 1 in their collection - speaking of which, one sold for 51.00 in March 2004, tho the average (median) price they go for on ebay is about 15.00)
there's been a couple of offers of over 50 quid for early UK flyers on the message board, but i guess that doesn't count
for consistent high values, Shoom 'hearts' usually go for 20-30 quid - cept the one i got, which no one else bid on :))
::: Ive seen a Fantazia from scotland go for about £48
price guide has 46 quid for Fantazia, Club Tour III (Prodigy) (Glasgow) (31 Oct 92) from an eBay sale in Nov 04
::: and those sunrise flyers are fetching nice prices for the seller at the moment.
it's been good seeing so many of them coming up for sale in the last month
:: The Fantazia Australia ones are also very collectable (not many going around) and Ive heard of them going for similar amounts.
: Yeah Ive seen some of those Fantazia OZ flyers go for over £30.
i can't remember what prices they went for on ebAy - will keep a look out for more (i'm still about 3 months behind on the price guide, so i may come across them yet)
the Oz Fantazias i know about are "The First Taste - Into 94" (Sydney, 31 Dec 93), "1994 World Tour" (Adelaide, 24 April 94), and "The Second Sight" (Sydney, 8 Oct 94) - (there's also a Fantazia Enterprises flyer "See It And Believe" (Perth, 13 Feb 93, LTJ Bukem, Donovan Smith, RatPack) but it's not the UK Fantazia) - anyone know of any more?
: -what flyer is the rarest
probably a one-off map hand-drawn by the organiser giving directions to an illegal party :)
: or worth the most?
the first Sunrise? (if it exists)
tho American collectors would probably pay whatever it takes for early US flyers
not what i'd call rave flyers, but some of last year's giant Ibiza posters sold well (i think one winning bid was 100 quid) - and 80s Hacienda flyers attract a lot of attention, but often that's cos they're also featuring live bands
any other suggestions?
