: Although Salvador Dali and M C Esher art tends to be the most used for the purpose of rave flyers [infringing copyright], and has inspired many other original flyer designs, from the likes of PEZ etc, here's a few more artists which are worth checking out - most of which were on LSD at the time - Victor Vasarely, Bridget Riley, Max Ernst, Rene Magritte - all worth checking out!
thanks for adding those
maybe drifting off-topic a bit... then there's all the surreal (post-surreal?) images taken from the works of science fantasy artists, including -
Tim White (Amnesia House, Fusion, Pleasure Zone / Pulse)
Rodney Matthews (Dreamstate, Drum Boogie)
HR Giger (Acid Munchies, Entropy, Facination)
Oliviero Berni (Elixir, Essence)
Boris Vallejo (Love Shack)
Vincente Segrelles (Essence)
Barclay Shaw (Rock & Rave)
and i think i've seen flyers using images by Franz Frazetta, Richard Corben and Rowena Morrill, but would welcome confirmation
PS the same Rodney Matthews image ("Mirador") is used on an early Dreamstate flyer and ten years later on a Dreamscape flyer
