In Reply to: Help needed!! HUGE mound of flyers found during a sort out!!! posted by dibs
: Me and hubby have re-discovered our massive flyer collection from approx 1990-94 (the bulk are 92-93).There are loads. they fill a large plastic storage crate, that I can hardly lift!
: I noticed on ebay that flyers still seem highly collectable, and I have spent a few evenings sorting some into general piles. I have huge pile of FANTAZIA, plus the thier clothing and music flyers and members newsletter. Huge pile of KINETIC flyers, posters for their 1st Birthday(I actually nicked from the clubs walls!!), members news letter. Piles of Vision, Dreamscape,Pandemonium, Helter Skelter, Starlight, The Edge,Eclipse,New Age, Dreamstate, Dance Nation,Entropy, Dance Trance, Big bad Head, Quest,Vibalite, Equinox, Sanctuary, Universe, Obsession, Total Kaos, Pure Pleasure, Exodus, Outer Limits, Tootie frootie (Shellys), Bang in Tunes + Exclusive T Shirt, Sunrise.Loads, loads more. Plus magazines ETERNITY issues 1 and 2 and merch flyers, NOW ravezine mag, Ravescene mag, and so much more my head is spinning! Plus Ibiza stuff like, Ministry in Ibiza mag '99, Amnesia, san Antonio ticket 1993. Flyer card thingys for es paradis, star club, etc.
: Anyway, I will list on ebay, but don't know where to start. So any advice greatfully received! Also, if there is a flyer you are after, from early 90's, I will have a look to see if we've got it, as there is a load not even sorted though yet! Shellys, Entropy and Kinetic, Stoke were our local clubs, so lots of our flyers are for Midlands events, but all parts of UK too. Plus Eurodance.
: Want I really need to know is how to sell them. Grouped or job lots? I'll check back here for advice and to see if anyone is interested, and then I'll list on ebay, and give you a link.
: Cheers!
Best advice i can give for selling on ebay, is to list them according to promoter, ie - all Fantazia together, Dreamscape etc. Maybe from the same club, ie - Shelleys, and any loose flyers, maybe put together as collections according to year, ie - all '91 etc. Some nice clear, close-up pics of flyer fronts [image side], and describe in listing; condition of flyers [check this website for flyer grading], year [if known] and start auction prices low to attract bids and a realistic p+p price. Although the flyer price guide on this website is an excellent resource - it is only a guide and you can expect final prices to fluctuate between these. And probably best to list them on the same day, with a 10-day listing. And finally if anyone makes you an offer, to close your listings early - an old collectors/ traders trick! - it normally means they are high value/ collectable and you will probably get a better price if you let the auction run - as most bids come in the last minute of auction. Hope this helps - good luck! and nuff respect to a fellow oldskool midlander...used to rave-up in Stoke @ Shelleys - and the placed rocked...and get down off the speakers! Amnesia House, Entropy, Pandemonium, Time, Spectrum, Quest , Kinetic, Total Kaos, Starlight, Eclipse, Shelleys...we were spoilt back then!
