how's about the next time an unwanted abusive or threatening email is received (whoever it's from), the sender is reported to their mail service provider and, if appropriate, to eBay - and a message posted here to let others know about it?

i've put down a few things below, but if anyone needs help they can always ask for more info

most mail providers have strict TOS (Terms Of Service) and will take action against anyone sending abusive or threatening emails

eBay may not act on a single complaint (unless the email is threatening), but if there's several complaints against one of their users relating to eBay sales, they'd most likely do something

you need to make sure that any complaint gets sent to the the right place - sometimes the offending email will need to be forwarded to an email address (typically abuse@... or postmaster@...) and sometimes copied and pasted into an online form

a brief descrption of the nature of the complaint should accompany the forwarded email - it's important to make sure that the full extended header info is included - this is normally not seen, but most mail programs have an option to display it (in addition to the usual "From:", "To:", "Subject:" and "Date:" fields there should be several extra fields such as "Message-ID:" and "Received:")
