: : Third time I have put this flyer on ebay, I wont bother any more if it doesnt sell this time
:
: Just a bit of friendly advice, the flyer is worth £20+ but maybe your starting bid of £20 is a little high. People can get put off bidding if the starting price is high.
:
: good luck anyway mate!
Dave makes a good point - people will bid if they think they can get it for a bargain, and then this can sometimes turn into a bidding war, which is the usual explanation for the really high prices
however there's other things which may help - the page has not had a lot of visitors, which is probably because -
* the sale title doesn't include the word "flyer" (or "flyers") - so unless potential buyers have the 'description' box checked, they're unlikely to find it
* nowhere in the title or description is there "rave", "dance, "old skool" or "flyers" - all of these are standard terms i use as part of query terms when looking for flyers on eBay
[not everyone ploughs thru the eBay music/memorabilia/dance section - and it's likely that not everyone arriving at an eBay page gets there via an eBay search... i think eBay pages can also get indexed by search engines, tho obviously time is a factor here - so it's worth making sure your description contains the words and phrases most likely to be used in query terms]
* the title states it's from the opening night, but it'd probably help if you included the exact date in the description (11 May 1988), just to give people confidence that it really is the opening night flyer - people often make mistakes about such things, so it helps to avoid possible doubts and confusion
for ref - using data from the flyers guide (from April 04 to early March 05) - final prices for 1988 Spectrum flyers on eBay (all at Heaven, unless specified) -
25.65 Apr 04
21.01 Jun 04 EX
15.49 Nov 04 EX
8.51 Dec 04 G
11.49 Dec 04 VG
15.00 Dec VG

9.99 Jan 05 EX NOBID
20.00 Feb 05 EX
7.95 Feb 05 M (Manchester)
20.00 Mar 05 EX NOBID
some of these sales will by well-known sellers who'll have the advantage of attracting regular buyers to their pages, but given the condition and the fact that none of the above are for the opening night flyer, 20.00 is not an unreasonable end price to hope for, but (as Dave says) might be a bit high for a starting price
