the information came from Angelflyers, so they're the people to contact for 'evidence' - according to info currently on their site -

"...as much as UKP 100,000 for a single collectible flyer, and well over UKP 500,000 passing hands for collections of collectible flyers"

i emailed them at info@angelflyers.com in April 2001, and asked for confirmation of these prices but none received as yet

IMHO dividing the first figure by 5,000 and the 2nd figure by 1000 gives more realistic values - however Angelflyers emailed "7000 opt-in subscribers" to their mailing-list 10 Nov 2002 saying -

"ACQUISITION - Elegant collection of 25,000 flyers from Belgium, Denmark, England, Germany and The Netherlands valued by Angelflyers at £1.00p GBP each and acquired by Angelflyers at £5,000 GBP"
