: : March 88 saw shoom change from the original green ticket style flyer where the spelling was changed from schoom to shoom at the fitness center next came the shoom magazine flyer...
: Then came the shoom at the ymca Tottenham ct rd. Mr C chatting etc. Which brings us to Kensington and as previously stated the Heart.

hi James - many thanx for the info and for throwing some light on the history of the Shoom flyer, one of the great mysteries

so i wonder if you can help clarify the following?

in "highflyers" (page 6) there's "THE RETURN OF THE HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY SHOOM!!! CLUB" at Fitness centre, Crown House, and the flyer has date on it "Sat.Jan.30" (it has yellow smileys down both sides) - it is described in the text as 1989

the same flyer appears in "fly - the art of the club flyer" (about half way thru) and is dated 1993

(if it was on Sat Jan 30, then it would have been either 1988 or 1993)

on p22 of "highflyers" there are 2 "Shoom" flyers, both for the Fitness Centre - "TRANCE DANCE" is dated "Sat.Feb.13" and "2DJs 4 DECKS COLDCUT" is dated "Feb 27" - (both these are black on white) -there is only one accompanying caption, which dates one or other or both as 1985

(Sat Feb 13th would have been 1988 or 1993, and presumably the Feb 27th flyer was from the same year)

from the above, is it possible that the change of name on the flyers from "schoom" to "shoom" took place earlier than March 1988?
