: : rave scene died in late 1993

: totally agree! I think it all went a bit naff around then as they started to put up prices and everyone was 'a DJ'. I went to World Dance at the Wembely conference centre(can't remember the year, about 94??) and they played a tape! They even had the cheek to have some pratt on stage pretnding to be a DJ and another muppet pretending to mc. Payed £45 to get in! It was a New years eve do. Anyone else there?

Sounds like the new year i was there ... bad attitude, crap chewns, people getting mugged, reports of someone being raped, cars broken into new ... happy f*****g new year!

back on topic ...

It was OK while we were all jumping to the same beat so a spilt in the music to Jungle and Happy Hardcore didn't help. I'd say it "died off" over the 93/4 period.
